MEDICAL DIRECTOR – MARC M. KERNER, MD, FACS

Dr. Marc KernerOur Medical Director, Marc Kerner, MD, FACS, is double board certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and The American Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.  He is one of only approximately 850 surgeons who have achieved this designation.  Dr. Kerner graduated magna cum laude from the University of Southern California School of Medicine.  While there he received the Outstanding Student Research Award, Dean’s List honors, and was elected to the elite all-university honor society, The Skull and Dagger Society for outstanding contributions to the university.  He was the co-founder of the USC Journal of Medicine, a student-run, peer-reviewed journal that published articles from both faculty and students, and had a distribution of over 25,000 each quarter.

Dr. Kerner completed his surgical training at UCLA under the guidance of Paul Ward, MD, a pioneer in head and neck surgery.  He completed a Fellowship in surgical research under a joint appointment with the Department of Molecular Pathology, as well as advanced microsurgical techniques with the Department of Plastic Surgery. Following the completion of his formal training, Dr. Kerner attended mini-fellowships in facial plastic surgery, sinus surgery, and minimally invasive thyroid surgery.

Dr. Kerner remains on the clinical faculty at UCLA and has attended to teaching medical students and residents at Olive View-UCLA medical center as well as providing yearly instructional courses for advanced sinus and facial plastic surgical techniques.

He has written numerous articles, developed a number of cutting edge surgical techniques and instruments, and has lectured nationally and internationally.  Dr. Kerner has been recognized as the best ENT by the Los Angeles Daily News, the California State Assembly, the California State Senate, and received numerous awards from national societies. He has been featured in the media and is sought after for his opinions by both the print media and TV.

Dr. Kerner was the first to use computer-aided image guided technology for sinus surgery in southern California, the first to introduce powered instrumentation in sinus surgery to UCLA and the community, and balloon sinus technology, as well as the introduction of platelet gel technology in maxillofacial and facial plastic surgery.

RYAN M. JORDAN, PA-C, PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT

FullSizeRenderRyan received her undergraduate degree from Arizona State University in 2000 with a BA in Communications. After several years of working in the entertainment industry she decided to fulfill her dream of practicing medicine and went back to school. In 2002 she received her graduate degree from Western University of Health Sciences in May 2006 with a MS in Physician Assistant studies. She has been working as a Physicians Assistant since October of 2006.

She is currently working part-time in our Northridge office so that she can devote time to her two young children. She enjoys going to Disneyland with her family and can frequent be found dining at Katsyua sushi.


VALERIE VAN DELLEN, PA-C, PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT

Valerie was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley.  She graduated from Syracuse University in 2018 with a BS in Exercise Physiology.  She then went on to earn her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at South College in Atlanta graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2023. After graduating from South College, she moved back home to pursue her desired specialty of ENT and facial plastics. Valerie is excited to work with Dr. Kerner and to serve her community. On the weekends, Valerie likes to go on walks with her fiancé and her dog Lola.


JAMES ANDREWS, MD, FACS – DIRECTOR HEARING AND BALANCE CENTER

Dr. JAMES ANDREWSDr. Andrews was born in Chicago, Illinois.  He was raised and educated in southern California.  He graduated from UCLA in 1976 and from University of Louisville Medical School in 1980.  He completed a surgical internship at Indiana University in 1981.  After an additional year of surgical training at UCLA in 1982, he completed a residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at UCLA in 1986.  He continued his training at the University of Zurich in Switzerland with an Otology and Skullbase Surgery fellowship which he completed in 1988.  He has been board certified in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery since 1986 and additionally board sub-certified in Neurotology since 2004 (a year after this subcertification was made available).

In 1986 Dr. Andrews joined the fulltime faculty in the division of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the UCLA Medical Center.  Dr. Andrews tenure was noteworthy for his scientific research in the field of Meniere’s disease and inner ear fluid physiology for which he was honored with multiple research grants from the National Institutes of Health.  He is well known for his work with hearing loss, tinnitus, vertigo, disorders of the facial nerve, Meniere’s disease, tumors and infections of the ear and skullbase, and congenital malformations of the ear.

Dr. Andrews is on the clinical faculty at UCLA where he continues to instruct the residents in temporal bone surgery through the West Los Angeles and Sepulveda VA.  He is on staff at UCLA, St. John’s Hospital in Santa Monica and Northridge Hospital in the San Fernando Valley.


MORRIS JAGODOWICZ, MD-DIRECTOR OF ANESTHESIA, PAIN MANAGEMENT

Dr. JagodowiczDr. Jagodowicz is an interventional nerve block and pain management specialist.  He did his residency in Anesthesiology and Pain Management at LAC-USC Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. He is a Diplomate of the American Academy of Pain Management.  He medically treats all forms of pain including cancer pain, and has performed numerous nerve block procedures including cervical and lumbar steroid epidurals, selective nerve root steroid blocks, sacroiliac joint blocks, radiofrequency Lesioning and spinal cord stimulator implantation since 1984. He also treats narcotic drug dependency and holds a special DEA certificate for all categories of narcotics dispensing.  He has also served as Medical Director of Pain Management Physicians in the San Fernando Valley and has been on staff at Northridge Hospital for the past 28 years. He has specialized in anesthesia for sleep apnea disorders following his residency. He has publications in both “Science” and “The Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences”.  He is a past member of the Board of Directors of the California Society of Anesthesiologists.  Presently he also performs PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) injections in joint and tendon areas that promote and accelerate healing of tissues and fractures. YARON PETERS, PT, DPT, MS

YaronDr. Peters is a California licensed physical therapist and Los Angeles native.  He went to the University of South Carolina for his undergraduate studies and then the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences where he achieved a Doctorate in Physical Therapy while graduating with honors at the top of his class.  He has spent years successfully treating a variety of significant orthopedic conditions and movement dysfunction but has special interests in treating TMJ dysfunction and myofascial pain.
