Juvéderm™

Juvéderm™ offers 3 types of fillers: Juvéderm™ Ultra Plus, Juvéderm™ Ultra Plus XC and Juvéderm™ Voluma.

JUVEDERM ULTRA XC

Juvederm Ultra XC  injectable gel is a colorless hyaluronic acid gel that is injected into facial tissue to smooth wrinkles and folds, especially around the nose and mouth.  It adds volume to facial tissue and restores a smoother appearance to the face.  Most patients need one treatment to achieve optimal wrinkle smoothing, and the results last about 9 months to 1 Year.

Within the first 24 hours, you should avoid strenuous exercise, extensive sun or heat exposure and alcoholic beverages.  Exposure to any of the above may cause temporary redness, swelling, and/or itching at the injection site.  If there is swelling you may need to place an ice pack over swollen area.

JUVEDERM ULTRA PLUS XC

Juvederm Ultra Plus XC injectable gel is a colorless hyaluronic acid gel that is injected into facial tissue to smooth wrinkles and folds, especially around the nose and mouth.  It adds volume to facial tissue and restores a smoother appearance to the face.  Because this is thicker then Juvederm Ultra, most patients need one treatment to achieve optimal wrinkle smoothing, and the results last about a Year.

JUVÉDERM VOLLURE^TM XC

JUVÉDERM VOLLURE^TM XC was recently approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds, in adults over the age of 21.

It is the first and only hyaluronic acid (HA) dermal filler FDA-approved to last up to 18 months with optimal treatment. Both JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus XC and JUVÉDERM® Ultra XC share this indication, however, JUVÉDERM VOLLURE^TM XC offers a longer duration because JUVÉDERM VOLLURE^TM XC  delivers subtle, soft volume, it is for the nasolabial folds, which are the most requested dermal filler treatment area. About half of all dermal filler patients receive treatment in this part of the face.

• JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® XC is specifically tailored to add volume and is indicated to correct age related volume loss in the cheek area. JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA® XC is designed to be a soft, smooth gel indicated for the lips and perioral area. JUVÉDERM VOLLURE^TM XC is tailored with a unique balance of gel properties to be firmer and more cohesive than JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA® XC, but less firm than JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® XC, making it appropriate for smoothing moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds.
• Q: It seems like JUVÉDERM VOLLURE^TM XC is very similar to JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus XC. What sets them apart?
• A: JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus XC and JUVÉDERM VOLLURE^TM XC are both indicated for correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds (such as nasolabial folds), however, they are uniquely formulated.  JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus XC is a more highly cross-linked, robust gel, while JUVÉDERM VOLLURE^TM XC adds subtle, softer volume.
• Q:Is JUVÉDERM VOLLURE^TM XC a replacement for JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus XC?
• A: No, JUVÉDERM VOLLURE^TM XC and JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus XC are both indicated for moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, but their gel properties are different, so physicians now have an additional treatment option for patients. Your doctor will decide which product is most appropriate based on your specific needs and treatment goals.

RESTYLANE®

Restylane^® is a safe and natural cosmetic dermal filler that restores volume and fullness to the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds including deep and superficial nasolabial folds. Restylane^® is the first and only cosmetic dermal filler made of non-animal based hyaluronic acid. There is virtually no risk of animal based disease transmission or allergic reaction. Restylane^® lasts 3 to 6 months, which is significantly longer than collagen, so treatments are typically scheduled two to three times a year. With our extensive experience we have found that having a touchup treatment before the product has fully dissipated will enhance the lasting effect.

RADIESSE™

Radiesse^™ is a filler material made from calcium hydroxyapatite. It can be used to replace soft tissue loss in the nasolabial folds and around areas of the face where there is bone loss as well. It is also effective for acne scarring. It lasts approximately 1 to 2 years, depending on the area injected.
